The informative bit; The next big thing, a fabulous alternative to NZ Sauvignon! Picpoul de Pinet is THE Languedoc white to drink and is cropping up on wine lists all over the UK (The Royal Oak Paley Street, Hix to name a couple).  One of the oldest grape varieties grown in Languedoc -Rousillon, made to drink young.

Tasting notes; Bone-dry, smooth and zingy with a chalky roundness.

Drinking hints and tips: Best enjoyed with a shared-platter of shellfish, ideally on the quayside. Alternatively, mussels, crab or grilled fish at the kitchen table will suffice or as the perfect party white. Serve well-chilled.

Independent Reviews and Rewards:

Jancis Robinson 16.5/20: “Very pale, smells of Conference pear. Lovely balance of acidity and fruit, with a tight citrus finish. Crisp green pear and apple fruit. Sappy and refreshing, an almost-not-there hint of tarragon. (TC)”
